经过一段时间的协调，中英政府间可持续农业（对话）网络第三工作组温室气体农业减排双边合作项目启动会定于
2010年
3月
10-11日在我校翰苑宾馆召开。
SAIN WG主要是创建中英气候变化对话网络平台，进行双边的交流和合作研究。本工作组主要是交流中英双方在农业温室气体减排上的潜力、技术和经验，促进气候变化友好农业技术的研发和推广，推进可持续农业发展。该项目的中方协调人是我校潘根兴教授，英方主持人是本课题组的长期合作伙伴，英国
Aberdeen大学生物学院生物与环境科学研究所教授
Pete Smith博士。本项目的主管部门是农业部国际合作司。本次会议是工作组首次活动，启动双方的合作和交流，主要议程是讨论合作的主要内容和未来三年的实施计划。目前，气候变化减缓及应对已经纳入国家社会经济长期发展规划，并正在落实到行业和地区的经济发展中，国家层面正在制定温室气体减排的指标和技术途径方案，本次会议将为农业温室气体减排的潜力和技术提供相关参考。鉴于我校已经成立农业与气候变化研究中心，组织好本次会议，也将推动我校在相关领域的工作的开展。
